Raised on a horse ranch, Stephen developed a strong work ethic and deep connection to the land at an early age. He farmed hay and trained horses in his youth before earning his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. After college, he spent over a decade managing real assets for a large manufacturing company, where he oversaw timber, water infrastructure, environmental compliance, and risk management. He then earned his law degree at Emory University and practiced real estate and transactional law in Colorado for nearly ten years.
Stephen later shifted from law into brokerage to work more directly with the land and to help clients achieve their real estate goals from start to finish. As both a licensed broker and attorney, he brings a rare combination of practical experience, legal insight, and strategic vision to every transaction. He understands the risks and rewards of property ownership and thrives on navigating complex deals while helping property owners identify and realize their dreams.
Stephen makes his home in Colorado with his wife and two children and also spends significant time in Wyoming, where he is both licensed professionally and connected through family. His deep ties to both states reflect his personal roots and professional focus across the Rocky Mountain region. Outside of work, he is a skilled horseman, private pilot, wilderness first responder, ice climber, and certified rock climbing guide. With more than 25 years of technical mountain experience and numerous ascents up to 5.13, he continues to pursue his passion for adventure throughout the Rockies.
We relocated from California to Boulder. Stephen came highly recommended from a friend. And he proved to be every bit as good as the friend said. We had particular priorities that we shared with Stephen and shared with him several options we saw online. Stephen viewed those properties in addition to others he found that he tought met our needs. As a result, we were able to have a focused, productive house hunting trip. There were some questions about the property we wanted to buy. Stephen coordinated bringing an engineer and inspector to answer our questions. He also liaised with the seller and their agent. In short, he went above and beyond for which we are extremely grateful. Overall, this was a pretty smooth transaction made possible by Stephen.
