Karen Phillips

An avid rifle, shotgun and bow hunter, Karen Mehall Phillips has hunted across the country and on five continents, regularly talking with nonhunters about legal, regulated hunting and sharing many wild game harvests along the way. Spending years as the director of communications for the NRA Hunters’ Leadership Forum and senior editor of American Hunter magazine, Karen is the founding editor of two NRA official journals and a founding member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association. National writing awards include being named the Carl Zeiss Sports Optics Writer of the Year, though she says her real claim to fame is playing the accordion. A past member of the Dallas Safari Club Foundation Board of Directors, she takes pride in giving back to the hunting community and is a founding member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association, an Endowment member of the NRA and a Life member of the Dallas Safari Club, Safari Club International and Mule Deer Foundation.

Karen lives her life on the land, which proves an asset to working in the farm, ranch and recreational real estate arena alongside her husband, Phil, as the other half of Team Phillips.
