Justin Derga

Justin Derga is a Broker Associate in the state of South Dakota, specializing in farm, ranch, and recreational properties. Originally from eastern Iowa, Justin developed a strong work ethic early in life, guided by his grandfather’s advice: “Be the first to show up and the last to leave.”

Justin moved to South Dakota in 2010 and began his career as a habitat specialist with Pheasants Forever, where he worked to enhance and manage high-quality wildlife habitat across the state. His time in conservation built a deep understanding of land management, habitat development, and the value of well-maintained ground—knowledge he now brings to his real estate clients.

In addition to real estate, Justin owns and operates a hunting and fishing guide service in central South Dakota. Since 2012, he has guided clients on premier pheasant hunts, trophy whitetail, mule deer, and turkey pursuits, as well as countless successful days on the water fishing for walleye on Lake Oahe. His hands-on experience in the field gives him a unique perspective when helping buyers and sellers evaluate recreational and income-producing properties.

Justin and his wife, Jenita, whom he married in 2021, live in Onida, South Dakota. Jenita is a grazing and rangeland management consultant who works with ranchers and livestock producers across the western United States to improve land productivity and profitability. Together, they enjoy hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time outdoors.
