Greg’s first experience regarding the land and the outdoors began on his grandmother’s farm in northern North Dakota. He started out as picking rock in the fields at a very young age to eventually acquiring the skills over time needed to be able to operate all the various types of equipment and vehicles needed from the spring plant to the fall harvest. Greg even rented out farm land from a neighbor and ran his own small grain operation. Additionally, the environment of the wide open prairies along with the various lakes and rivers offered all types of opportunities to hunt and fish. Following the family yearly ritual of his father, uncle and grandfather, Greg eagerly started the hunting season with upland game (partridge and grouse), followed by ducks, geese, pheasants and ending up with Whitetail deer. A lot of good times and memorable experiences were created over the years by participating in these activities. A graduate of North Dakota State University, Greg got involved in the contracting business that took him to multiple locations over the years with eventually settling in Colorado. An opportunity to work in the oil and gas industry as a “Landman” renewed his appreciation of the land and the value it offers. Greg never wavered from those formative years in North Dakota and the farm/ranch lifestyle and his love for the land and the outdoors still remains today. He brings a unique skillset and broad range of experience to the Hayden Outdoors brand.
I am writing this letter to let you know how grateful I am to you regarding the sale of the property I owned in Adams County, CO. Greg, you did an outstanding job in getting some difficult land sold at pretty much our asking price without the cost of any improvements. You suggested we sell the land in three partials if someone didn't step up and want to buy all the acreage, and that was a very good plan. All pieces sold in a little more than a year. I have never worked with a realtor who was so thorough, always checking and rechecking every detail making sure wording and spelling was correct, and each transaction was completed according to the contract schedule. You kept me well informed, and followed up on every detail, even communicating with Farm Services as to where the CRP payments should be made a responsibility I considered was mine. When you didn't have an active buyer, you found other alternatives calling neighbors, checking on cost for a road leading to some landlocked acreage, finding people who would remove junked cars, etc. You worked so hard, and still made everything go so smoothly, which I really appreciated. During this time, I trusted you, and felt we had become friends. I am thankful for our connection through my son, Kyle. Over these last few years, I had thought of selling the property, but then I thought maybe it would be better for my two sons to receive the property with a step-up basis upon my death. In seeking the advice from others, and after the connection with you, I chose to sell, and now I can gift the money to Kyle and Shane and enjoy seeing the change it will make in their lives. I don't know if you know our background, but my sons and I are very close. In 1992, their father was killed in what was called a pedestrian accident. We were driving two vehicles with two friends from Virginia to our ranch near Sterling, CO. We stopped along the highway in MO to check on one of the vehicles when a woman and her husband drove off the highway and hit my husband and a friend killing them instantly. The woman had fallen a sleep while driving. I received a settlement and some insurance, plus we had some property, and I felt the boy's loss was as much or maybe even more than mine, therefore I share what I can with them. Without your help this sale wouldn't have happened, and we all thank you. I sold my ranch in 2008, and have very few connections there anymore, but if I ever have a chance to recommend a great realtor in your area, it will certainly be you. If you ever get to Oregon, we would love to meet you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and may God bless you and Hayden Outdoors.
Thank you for your excellent service in selling our property outside Byers, CO, which we have called I-70 & 201. A former partner in the firm bought that property 14 years ago, and several times we’ve looked into selling it with no luck. The brokers working in the area were only interested in buying for their own account, so calling to represent neighboring properties and not our best interests. Although you and I have not met, I was impressed with you on our first call. You immediately gave me the impression that you’d be an active broker, not just posting and waiting. It was also reassuring when you called immediately after putting up some signs, which got us some activity that week. When we need a surveyor, you put us in touch with a good one. When some complications arose from the survey, you and Harold helped us get through it without everything dragging to a stop. When you found a buyer, you did a terrific job of representing our interests without letting fish off the hook. Finally, I very much appreciate that you kept me updated on your activities in marketing and then closing every week. I wish every broker we work with would replicate your approach. I will be happy to give provide my highest recommendation if you ever have another potential client looking for a reference. Thank you, Greg. With my deep respect.
Real estate agent, Greg Knutson, is simply the best. Meticulous. Professional and personable under pressure. As sales agent for my land parcel in Eastern Colorado, Greg navigated a myriad of unique challenges in an extraordinarily compressed sales timeframe and handled the specific challenges of my listing with remarkable poise and consideration. Greg identified and avoided several costly pitfalls in the sales process that optimized my investment, preserving the maximum value of the sale, on time and at the right price. And he did it all while mediating an out-of-the-ordinary dynamic with prospective buyers and clients. Greg Knutson and the folks at Hayden Outdoors exceeded every expectation and earned both my trust and highest possible recommendation for a job well done. Thank you, Greg!
