Eric grew up on his family’s farm and ranch in southwest Kansas. After earning his degree from Kansas State University in 2005, he relocated to Colorado the following year to join McCarty Land and Water Valuation, his uncle’s appraisal firm that focused on farms, ranches, and water resources. By 2012, Eric had obtained his Certified General Appraiser license and established his own appraisal business three years later. In 2016, he added a Real Estate broker’s license to his credentials and began working with local broker Lar Voss. Following three years under Lar’s mentorship, Eric launched his own brokerage and consulting company. Between 2020 and 2025, he transitioned away from appraisals to dedicate himself fully to brokerage and consulting, concentrating mainly on water rights in Northern Colorado.
Throughout his 16-year career as an appraiser, Eric became highly specialized in water rights and related fields, including gravel mining and water storage. His collaborations with most water districts and municipalities in Northern Colorado have given him deep insights into the region’s water market, allowing him to offer informed guidance to clients regarding the planning and management of their water assets.
Eric lives in Water Valley in Windsor, Colorado, where he has resided since 2014. He has a 9-year-old son, Callen. They enjoy golfing, fishing and recreating on the lakes near their home. As newer members of the Hayden Outdoors family, they are both looking forward to the new relationships and opportunities on the horizon.
