Chase is both a Videographer and Biologist at Hayden Outdoors. Regularly out in the field, he can be found filming and photographing properties, as well as filming hunting and fishing excursions for the Hayden Outdoors TV show, Life on the Land. He also wears the Biologist hat for Hayden Outdoors, providing consulting for different fisheries and wildlife projects, such as restoration plans and habitat assessments.
Chase was born and raised in North-Central California, where the Sierra Foothills and Central Valley collide. He was fortunate enough to be immersed into the outdoors at a young age, with this unique region of California allowing him to indulge in just about everything: bass fishing & waterfowl hunting the valley, upland hunting in the foothills, and fly fishing the streams of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. After high school, he jumped across the Sierras and went to college at the University of Nevada, Reno. Here in the Eastern Sierra, he managed to juggle chasing upland birds and trout with attending class, and after 4 years he attained his B.S. in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. It was also during these college years that his hobby of filming and photographing the outdoors would turn into a passion. Rarely were cameras not present on hunting and fishing trips with his buddies, and soon the videos turned into a full on brand and YouTube channel.
There was no slowing down, and what started off as a childhood hobby would grow to eventually attach itself to his career. After graduating, he went on to work as an assistant biologist for Trout Unlimited, Cramer Fish Sciences, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife. As fate would have it, Chase’s affinity for photography and video production bled into all of these jobs, and aside from his biologist work, he would also regularly film habitat projects, put together educational videos, and even use drone photography to help map out & monitor habitat restoration sites. Not too long after moving to Northern Colorado, Chase would go on to meet with a family friend who had been with Hayden Outdoors for years. Soon after the meeting, Chase joined the Hayden Team, and blending together his passion for wildlife ecology and outdoor videography has been a perfect fit.
