Property Description

Stonewood Meadows Ranch consists of 320 acres of beautiful meadows, forests and rock outcroppings. Conveniently located close to the Front Range, Stonewood Meadows Ranch is the perfect high country getaway. You are welcomed by a custom built, off the grid cabin which overlooks a lush mountain meadow and private pond. Adventure is around every corner here.

Improvements –  The cozy cabin, also known as Hummingbird Cottage, is being offered partially furnished. It has all the necessities to comfortably sleep 8 people including, two bedrooms, one bathroom, and 1,394 finished square feet. In addition, it also has a loft and an extra sleeping nook. The stunning spa like bathroom with double shower heads is yet another place to relax. The cabin features a quaint kitchen with great views, large beams, and pine wood floors. The wood burning fireplace in the great room can efficiently heat the cabin any time of year. Just a few steps outside the cabin you will find it easy to enjoy a warm cup of coffee on the covered porch or in the gazebo while listening to the quaking Aspens and watching the wildlife meander through the meadow and around the pond.

This true off the grid cabin is self-sustaining utilizing solar energy for electricity. It comes with radiant floor propane heat and a back up generator. Additionally, the cabin is of strawbale construction and has won some awards for its design and tremendous enviro-friendly green features.

Location & History – Stonewood Meadows Ranch is located 30 minutes from Estes Park CO, one hour to Longmont, Boulder or Ft. Collins, and two hours from Denver. The ranch is accessible using Hell Canyon Rd, a 4 wheel drive road for 3.5 miles. The road is maintained by the local road association comprised of the neighboring land owners. The road is a little rough, nevertheless once you take your first steps onto the ranch you will know the drive was well worth it. The history here at Stonewood Meadows is rich and is evident by old farm implements and old livestock pens.

Land & Wildlife –This property has all the features an outdoor enthusiast could ask for. Off-roading trails make it easy to get around the property on foot or car, but the fun does not stop there. Tons of additional trails can be found on the surrounding Roosevelt National Forest making you feel as though you can never stop exploring. Horseback riding, hiking, and much more are right at your fingertips with exceptional views and fresh mountain air. The healthy pond is ready to be stocked and is currently full of many small aquatic creatures. Animals including elk, mule deer, bear, mountain lion, moose, and even wild turkey frequently use the pond. All four seasons are spectacular on the ranch and in the Fall you may hear elk bugling right outside your back door.

Elevations on the property range between 8100 and 8400 with a great mix of  towering spruce, pine, and aspen trees. The forest is very healthy, as evidenced by all the vegetation including vibrant wildflowers, wild raspberry, and grassy areas. Views of Longs Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park and even the Denver skyline can be seen from the upper meadows on the property. Perhaps the highlight of the ranch is the sense of seclusion which is why the current owner decided to put a Conservation Easement on the property; protecting it from ever being heavily developed. Of course, if you have a big family, you have the possibility of an additional four building envelopes on the property.

Located behind two locked gates the ranch is the perfect place to get away from the hustle of the city and appreciate the fresh mountain air. Call Zack Wiese for a showing.
