Property Description

Rendezvous Ranch

This property is beautifully placed in the Wet Mountains that cascade down into the Wet Mountain Valley. It's situated to enjoy the embellished 20 mile-wide valley views which ascend to the genuinely majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range to the west.

The Home

This picturesque sculpture was artfully built with love by two visionaries who believed that building a homestead for any possible dream was paramount. The creation of this architecture was beautifully designed and created so that the opportunity for it to be continually molded and modified into any lifestyle configuration that would be welcoming of future ideas and aspirations. This property invites you to feel the love, energy, and vision that is in the very foundation of its realization and to manifest YOUR wildest dreams in this Colorado mountain home.

The home, constructed with Ray Core Structural Insulated Panels, consists of grand open space and colossal timber beams transcending vaulted ceilings as you enter, with picture windows directing your attention to the big valley and mountains from any room in the house. The kitchen is large with tile countertops and custom cabinetry of beautiful reclaimed Wyoming wind and snow fence. Each piece of reclaimed wood comes from the tall snow fences that line roadways of the wind-prone state of Wyoming. This distressed wood, naturally aged in the high plains and mountains of Wyoming, has been artistically infused in the design of the entire home. Step out from the kitchen or dining room to the grand outdoor covered deck that's perfect for your outdoor parties and has plenty of room for an outdoor kitchen! The laundry area is located just off the kitchen.

The shop/studio area is opposite the kitchen and is wainscoted with this beautiful wood where the sunlight falls upon the artists' workbench from the wall of west-facing windows. (The studio area has the space to be remodeled into a bedroom or two if you so desire) The grand and sizable bathroom offers the same reclaimed wood finishes with slate tile ascending to the large jetted tub, which is situated to enjoy the breathtaking views while immersed in warm, clear rocky mountain water. The spiral staircase leads to the open loft with views of the rocky mountains visible from the king bed. (Not technically a bedroom as there is no closet at this time, but one could be designed with ease). The entire home is heated with a wood stove and has been plumbed for propane heat if desired.

Outbuildings

The unattached studio/workshop/man-cave has been equipped with a garage door and man-door and could easily be used as a garage if desired. The artistic interior is insulated and finished with corrugated tin walls, aspen ceiling, and concrete floors — the exterior consists of distressed corrugated tin with a covered deck. A Quonset hut utilized as the gardening shed for the fenced, raised-bed garden area and a 1,000 sq. ft., 50'x20', unfinished studio that would also make fantastic guest quarters are also a part of this artistically infused architectural homestead.

The Land

The property has year-round access and is located a short distance south of Westcliffe, Colorado, in the foothills of the Wet Mountain Valley. Westcliffe is an easy three-hour drive from Denver, a 1.5-hour drive from Colorado Springs, and 45 minutes from Canon City and Pueblo. This property is quite close to the Silver West Airport that features a 54' x 7,000' runway.

Nearby

The famous Crestone Needles, Crestone Peak, Kit Carson Mountain, and Humbolt Peak are a few of the mountains that are there for your viewing pleasure and offer 52 high-mountain lakes for an epic fishing and hiking experience. The 100-mile Rainbow Trail skirts the base of these mountains and stretches from New Mexico to Salida, Colorado.
