  Culebra Vista Cabina is the high mountain cabin that everyone dreams of when looking for Colorado property.  This cabin sits near timberline in the Culebra Range of the Sangre De Cristo mountains of southern Colorado.  The cabin was hand crafted by Amish builders, and Engelmann Spruce logs were hand picked before construction.  

  The cabin itself is overbuilt.  From the huge handpicked Engelmann Spruce logs that were hand fitted, to the one foot of foam in the roof between the steel roof and interior multi-colored wormwood finish tongue and groove.  The wood stove is one of the very best on the market.  A Swedish Moroso that cost about $1500 and installed with double walled stainless steel flue costing around $1400.  It doesn't just warm.  You can cook on it, and also enjoy watching the fire burn. The hot water heater is one of the best.  A $2,600 Rianni Tankless on demand hot water heater.  Both 12V and 110V solar electrical system. The 110V has a $700 2000W Sinewave Inverter to drive about any load and make computer use a pleasure.  LED remote controlled loft and kitchen lights.  Great loft with a beautiful railing.  The septic system is overbuilt and probably shouldn't need to be pumped for a very long time.  The cistern is 600 gal and should normally only have to be filled once or twice a year depending on water usage.  And, a very nice 12'x28' porch with a fantastic view of the Culebra Range.  Elk, Deer, Bighorn Sheep, and Bears are frequently seen on the property or from the front porch!  Much of the Sangre De Cristo Ranch Subdivision is owned by people from out of town, and the neighborhood does not get much traffic with a only a handful of year round residents.
  There is roughly 5,000 acres of Greenbelt located within S.D.C.R. which is there for property owners to enjoy.  You are legally allowed to hunt in the Greenbelt if you are a property owner.  This property sits in GMU 83 and allows for over the counter elk tags to be purchased during select seasons.  Deer tags are on a draw basis only.  Bear tags can be bought over the counter, with many trophy class bruins calling GMU 83 home.  I feel that if one hunted right off the front porch, you would do quite well in the earlier seasons!  If you are looking for a place to call home year round, you would need a tracked vehicle to access the property from about the end of December thru June 1st on a typical year.  The soil is good and rocky, so there's not much mud to contend with!  There is a lot of level usable land near where the cabin is built.  If a future owner wanted to build a shop/garage, there are plenty of good locations to build one.  Finding a lot like this (49.1 acres) is almost impossible to find.  Most lots are steep and don't have the views that this lot has.  This Cabin sits within a few miles of the famed Cielo Vista Ranch.  Many people have seen footage of elk hunting that takes place on that ranch on various TV shows on the Outdoor Channel.  The location of this cabin is world class, and so is the Outdoor Recreation that resides here.  Call for a qualified showing today!
