Hunting in Wyoming

Wyoming is an exceptional hunting destination. BIG  GAME HUNTING
Big game hunting season varies depending on the animal—bear, elk, moose, mountain lion, bison—but it usually ranges from August to October, November, or December. Thousands of acres of forest land and BLM land offer hunting to the public, but many of the trophy hunting areas are made up of private land. The largest herd of Pronghorn Antelope reside in Wyoming and number in the hundreds of thousands.

SMALL GAME HUNTING

Fur bearing animals such as mink, bobcat, weasel, and badger are generally in season from October to March or April. Small game like grouse, rabbit, and pheasant can be hunted from September or October through as late as March. Wyoming offers many types of waterfowl to hunt, such as a wide variety of ducks, geese, and coots. The hunting season for waterfowl varies, but it generally runs from fall to mid-winter.
