Matt gets his lifelong passion for land and the outdoors honest. His 7th great grandfather settled in North Carolina from Germany in 1753 and began farming the rich bottom lands of the upper Yadkin River valley. Matt spent every possible moment of his youth hunting, fishing and farming with his grandfather, father and uncle on the family farm.
While attending college at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington, Matt was invited to participate in the National Student Exchange Program and eagerly attended the University of Montana in Missoula in the fall of 1996. While there, Matt fell in love with all things Montana. After graduating from UNCW in 1998 with a degree in Communications and Marketing, Matt moved to Montana and made Billings his home.
Matt has spent the last two decades with his wife Heather, raising their two children and numerous labrador retrievers in the river bottoms and farmlands of Eastern Montana.
Matt has built a successful career in sales and marketing working with the Oil and Gas Industry as well as the Mining Industry in the Western US. However, his real passion lies in his love for land and helping others reach their goals of buying, selling, or developing their property. Over the last 10 years, Matt has enjoyed developing his personal farm into a world class hunting property as well as consulting on the development of hunting properties in South Dakota, Wyoming, Missouri and North Carolina.
