I have spent the majority of my adult life learning about, working in and exploring the forests in the magnificent Western United States. I earned my PhD in Forest Ecology/Biology from Denver University in 2012. I also hold degrees in Forest Soils (MS-Univ. of Washington), Natural Resource Management (BS-Univ. of Montana) and a Forestry Technician Certificate of Achievement (Feather River College in Quincy, CA).
In my professional career, I have worked with the U.S. Forest Service in Montana, the Colorado State Forest Service and as a Forestry Consultant helping landowners manage their properties. I taught my way through graduate school leading ecology, soils and biology classes both in the field and the lab. I have also owned and operated a logging company. My unique career has allowed me to see the land from several different angles and I can share that knowledge with you.
I enjoy backpacking, kayaking and mountain biking with my wife in the high country. She is a sixth generation Coloradoan (on both sides of her family) with deep ranching roots. Her family owned the D-T Ranch in Weldona which is recognized as the oldest family-owned ranch in the state.
My goal as a Hayden Outdoors team member is sharing my enthusiasm and respect for the land with the people I meet and work with. I can combine a 25-year forestry and logging career with PhD-level research skills to provide a quality real estate experience. I look forward to assisting you and your family in reaching your goals.
