Property Description:
When I first met the owners, they had a deam to build an elk ranch on property that was very limited for cattle raising. The first six moths they resided in a tent while cutting trees and sawing logs and lumber in preparation of building their home. A spring provided domestic water and a source of hydro power since electricity had not yet been brought in to the property. The ranch was fenced, stocked with elk, and Trophy Mountain Ranch became a reality. Their vision also included providing building sites that would enable others to enjoy the quiet solitude and breathtaking views of eagles flying, hearing elk bugle, or watching a mother tend her newborn calf in the middle of one of our famouse snow storms. Over the past five years, a couple of families have built their dream homes and now reside year around. While building the fence, several old teepee rings were found where indian tribes once called home. Beaver still are in residence on the ranch, but only the memories of the old trappers heading to Ronneyvue through North Park's "Bull Pen" remain to be retold over a campfire. From the property it is only a short distance to enjoy the Medicine Bow, Rawah, Zirkle which is also known as the Never Summer Wilderness Range.
